10+ Thankful Activities For Children

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. This year I have done more thankful activities than ever and it really has started to pay off. Last year I wrote about some gratitude activities and this year I was able to complete some. My children seem more appreciative and have been asking for less items. Even making comments on how they don’t “need” this or that because we already have it or something similar. This year we did a lot more of reflective types of thankful activities and I have clearly been thrilled with the results.

Thankful Pumpkin – I had heard of this before and even posted about it. My co-worker did it with her children and it looks so cute. The have continued to do the thankful pumpkin from October through November. Although her family was resistant at first they now are super eager to complete the activity. We even did thankful acorns with our students at school. They turned out really cute, we learned more about our children, and it made our children think.

Other Thankful Activities – Here are some of the other activities that I have saved in the hope of using them with my family in future Thanksgiving holidays.

Thanksgiving Game

Thankful Pie

Thankful Frame

Thankful Sensory Bin

Thankful Hearts

Another Thankful Pie

Gratitude Book

Gratitude Leaves

Gratitude Board

These reflecting activities are great for discussion and having the right attitude for the season. This year I am thankful for my family and the growing support network in our new home. It has been wonderful to reflect on the blessings my family and I do have. I look forward to continuing the tradition of reflection with my family during this season. I hope that you and your family will also enjoy the activities of reflection during this Thanksgiving season.
